Onboarding: Volunteer Orientation & Trainings
Congratulations! You have successfully created an account. Now how do you get started volunteering?
There are 2 main requirements before you can begin volunteering in the different areas of the Botanical Center.
1. Volunteer Orientation
Needed for all new volunteers to get acquainted with the facilities at the Botanical Center and the opportunities that are available to them as volunteers.
Volunteer orientations will be scheduled on a weekly basis, rotating between a weekday and a weekend in order to accommodate different types of schedules. If you do not see a time that works for you, please reach out to the Volunteer Coordinator Alex at " AGonzalez@providenceri.gov " to discuss alternative times.
2. Training
Required for each of the volunteer group you are interested in joining, prior to being able to sign up for a shift. This ensures that you know the proper protocol, tasks, and anything else you might need to know to volunteer independently or with a group.
Trainings will occur regularly on a weekly or bi-weekly basis depending on volunteer team leader availability. Regular trainings will be posted under each volunteer team page. If you do not see a training time that works for you, please reach out to the team lead to arrange an alternate time.
