How can I volunteer?

Who can volunteer?

Upon an approved BCI, anyone can volunteer with us!

*Minors under the age of 18 require a parent or legal guardian accompanying them who have been trained to perform tasks*

Why do I need a background check?

As representatives of a city entity that engages the public and children through programming and education, all Botanical Center volunteers must be approved prior to becoming a volunteer.

How often can I volunteer?

You can come as often as you'd like, given that there are available opportunities and you meet their requirements.

Are there volunteer opportunities in the winter? 

Yes!

How much of a commitment is there?

Some volunteer groups require more commitment than others and we often have one-off volunteer opportunities as well.

When can I start?

Once you get your BCI approved and you had an orientation, you can start signing up for training and then shifts.

How do I sign up for trainings?

Each volunteer group has their own trainings and schedule. Please visit their pages to view and sign up for a training.
