Edible Forest Garden

The Roger Williams Park Edible Forest Garden is a plant-based food system modeled after a natural woodland, growing fruits, nuts, herbs, perennial vegetables, and habitat for wildlife.

Established in 2012 by the URI Outreach Center and URI Master Gardeners, it transforms underused park land into a productive, low-maintenance ecosystem that supports food access, education, and biodiversity.

In 2025, the Pearl Street Garden Collective is honored to steward and revive the forest garden, building on its original vision and preparing it to be cared for by the community for generations to come. Learn more about PSGC; pearlstreetgarden.org
