Who We Are
The Botanical Center oversees produce donation volunteering indoors and outdoors.
Our indoor Flavor Lab is active yearlong, while volunteering at the outdoor Produce Donation Garden is seasonal.
Volunteer opportunities are available throughout the week, mornings and afternoons!
What We Do
We plant, seed, harvest, and donate produce to local food pantries.
The PDG, together with the Flavor Lab in the Botanical Center greenhouse would love to have volunteers come and get their hands dirty with us.
The PDG operates primarily from March to November while the FL is a year-round opportunity. You can sign up to be part of a weekly team or be a "floater" and volunteer according to your own schedule.
We have monthly group workdays days where we also host public educational workshops about various gardening topics. We also work alongside the community gardeners who rent their own plots in the PDG.
Volunteers can expect to learn how to care for plants and optimize for fruit and vegetable growth while addressing pest related challenges
